NASH MUSK OX : Here at Windy valley Muskox we have been raising muskox since 2000. Our goal is to have a herd of fiber (qiviut) producing animals and to sell breeding stock. Our herd has grown from three animals in 2000 to seventeen as of November 2006. We have seven cows to calf in 2007. I will be open to selling breeding pairs in the future. We have had great calf survival rates and have six healthy calves from 2006. Muskox are a great animal for Alaska as they are cheap to feed , $200 a winter and return from the qiviut is easily 4 times that amount. Our farm is in the scenic Matanuska valley where the Nash family has been living and farming for over fifty years. Feel free to visit our website at www.windyvalleymuskox.com.

A TRIP THRU THE MAT-SU VALLEY : I conducted a private tour for two of our customers today and we spent the day driving thru and visiting various locations in and around Palmer Alaska, about 40 miles north of us. We made stops at the Reindeer Farm, Musk Ox Farm, the Mother Lode restaurant up at Hatcher's Pass and the Eklutna Village.
